Meditation
Meditation is the inner journey towards the peace and true happiness. It is to unite with the supreme consciousness. Like when a seed put into the earth, it burst and grows to give fruits. Similarly, in meditation when we get united with our true self, the true happiness starts to bloom. Patanjali Yoga Sutra describes the true self is always on the state of total blissfulness. Meditation is the state when we are one with our true eternal blissful nature.
There are three stages of meditation. Dharana, Dhyana and Samadhi are the different stages of Meditation. Samadhi is the higher state. It is the state of silence and total blissfulness. The practice starts with the Dharana. Dharana means practice which generate concentration. Our mind is continuously dwelling from one thought to another, one subject to another. Why we are not able to live a life of awareness and full concentration? It is because we didn’t have the culture to learn about our mind, emotions and ourselves. In child we were very curious and close to the nature. But as we grow we start to loss the connection with ourselves. This two weeks for reestablish your child like happiness.
Dharana is the one pointedness of the mind. When are able to bring one pointedness in our mind, we start to get free from the wandering mind. We will start to have control over our thought, emotions and desires. This will help to free us from stress and anxiety. We learn the true art of living. When the dharana prospers, dhyana is achieved. In dhyana the senses become introverted and no outer disruption is experienced. Dhyana is the pure form of Dharana. We observe sometime we are so happy in our life without any reason. In the higher state of meditation, we get just tuned with that source of inner happiness. You will learn following meditation during this yoga retreat Nepal.

Mantra Chanting and Relaxation
The chanting meditation tunes our body and mind. During the chanting practice we chant Sanskrit rhymes which are called the mantras. The mantra carries spiritual meaning and very powerful vibrations which are capable to activate our energy channels. Thus, Chanting is the very important part of spiritual practice. As mantra is chanted continuously in a rhythm, as we deepen into practice, mind starts to get concentrated. It leads to the state of relaxation and meditation.
We need to relax properly in today’s stressful and competitive life. We have forgotten the art of relaxing. Even while sleeping, most are not able to get a good sleep. Our mind is running all the time. To get a proper relaxation we need not just to sit or lie down but know how to silence our mind. Even when we are sleeping we are not able to relax. Yogic relaxation and practice of Yoga Nindra (psychic sleep) helps not just to relax our body but to calm down our mind.
Yoga-Philosophy Covered of Yoga Retreat Nepal
We have unlimited possibilities. Our consciousness is limited to the lower form. We are driven by our senses, emotion and ego. Our mind is directed outward. Thus, we create unlimited desires. Yoga teaches us to inward our senses. It teaches to utilize the energy for the transformation of consciousness.
Whatever we perceive outside is just the reflection of inside. Suppose we fall in love. We love other only because love emerged within us. Some might have a fear of losing their materialistic thing. The fear is inside. Till we do not understand it, we keep on searching the essence of life outside. Yoga philosophy makes introvert to realize the self. There are three stage of knowledge first one is knowledge from listening, second step of knowledge comes from practice what we listen then final third stage of knowledge comes from self-realization which turn knowledge to wisdom.
Eight Limbs of Yoga
The patanjali yoga sutra describes a very systematic path to inward our journey towards the self-transformation. It prescribes the eight limbs of yoga known as Ashtanga Yoga. It prescribes asana and pranayama as the preparation for the meditation. Samadhi is the ultimate goal. It is not possible to achieve this pure state of consciousness without being able to discipline our body and mind. That is why Patanjali Yoga first gives emphasis on Yama (Social discipline) and Niyama (Self-discipline). After fallowing Yama and Niyama then practitioner will get ready for yoga asana (Posture).
Ashtanga Yoga can be divided into two outer and inner practices known as Bahiranga Yoga and Antaranga Yoga. Yama, Niyam, Asana and Pranayama come under the Bahiranga Yoga whereas Pratyahara, Dharana, Dhyana and Samadhi come under the Antaranga Yoga.
The practice of Yamas and Niyamas helps to maintain the moral value and integrity of human. Satya ( Truth ), Ahimsa ( Non-violence ), Aparighraha (non-possessiveness ) and Bramhacaraya (Celibacy ) are the components of Yamas whereas Sauca ( Inner cleansing ), Santosha ( Contentment ) , Tapaha ( Austerity ), Swadhyaya (Self-study), Ishwara Pranidhan (Ego–surrender) are the basic components of Niyamas.
